Tall Kneeling X Pulldown

The X Pulldown is an exercise that I have been playing around with ever since I learn about it earlier this year when the team and I from Spurling went down to Mike Boyles for a day of learning.

What I like about it is it forces you to retract the shoulder blades and get some good external rotation of the shoulders while you are pulling.

But what has to be my favorite part is the fact it makes me feel kind of like Wolverine when he has his claws in front of his face.

I know uncanny isn’t it. You can barely tell us apart.

The Exercise 

 

Coaching Cues 

  • Keep hips under ribs
  • Think of pulling bands/cable apart not just pulling down
  • Anchor yourself to the ground/feel the ground

Sets/Reps: 3-4×10-15
