Do you ever think about your head posture and how it will affect your everyday life and workouts?
Yeah, me neither. Who would think about that?
But now that I have brought up the subject of head posture, let’s talk about it a little.
Head posture is something we don’t think about until it starts affecting our lives. In today’s video, I talk about forward head posture, what it looks like, how to work around it, and a few exercises you can do to help correct it.
Key Points
- Forward head posture happens when we spend too much time with our heads forward. For instance, while driving, phone surfing, computer-ing, and less than ideal positions while sleeping.
- You will end up with a tight neck. Your shoulders will start to roll forward. This means you could end up with more neck, head, and shoulder pain down the road and even back pain from compensation movements.
- If you have a forward head posture and find doing exercises on the ground bothers your neck, try putting a pad under your head to help.
- You should also pay attention to your head position throughout the day to help bring your head back to a more natural position.
