The Journey Not Easy But Worth It

journey

I have been sitting here for 15 minutes trying to figure out what to write about.

Should I write about how to get results? Or talks about what to do if you do not see results? Maybe I go a completely different route and give you a list of my top 5 favorite exercises for “X.”

Instead, I just decided to start writing, hoping something would happen, and the funning thing is I think I found what I want to write about.

Stop worrying about getting everything perfect, stop waiting for the right moment to do something, please stop being scared to be uncomfortable.

It will never be perfect, and there will always be something getting in the way of what you want. And if you are comfortable, you are doing the things that have brought you to where you are; those same habits and skills used that same way will not get you to the next place you want to go.

The fitness journey involves you making mistakes, making the best out of bad circumstances, and above all, persevering through your inner monologue.

Wanting you to stop if there is the slightest hint of failure, wanting you to break under the pile of “what’s the point?”, and constantly wanting to drag you back to the comforts of “wouldn’t it feel better to do X instead?”

What gets you through the messy journey? Remembering your “Why.”

On days I don’t want to work out, I remember I work out to play with my grandkids someday and, even in my later years, be able to enjoy nature. And yeah, I still want to look good for beach weather and be stronger than the other people working out at the gym with me.

The journey is messy and definitely not easy, worth it, I think so, and I hope you do too.

Your Fitness Sherpa,
