Why would anyone want stronger hips? They say loose lips sink ships. I say weak hips lead to instability, which leads to your life sucking. Not as catchy of an idiom, but that’s what they say anyways.
All fun and word games aside, developing stronger hips will greatly improve your side to side stability, which comes into play when you are squatting and deadlifting and in a single leg positions (think: running, sprinting, and walking). A lack of hip strength can leave you open to knee and back injuries down the road.
In today’s quick video, I go over one of my favorite exercises to develop stronger hips and some of the common mistakes made that take away from the effectiveness of the exercise.
Give it a watch.
