Training Rotation Properly

Training Rotation

Rotation is an everyday movement – we see it when we turn side to side. I was, in fact, just doing some rotation the other day, if you can believe or not when I unloaded my dishwasher; bending down, lifting some heavy plates over my shoulder, and reaching to the tippy top shelf in the cabinet to put dishes away.

The funny thing is, just because we do a movement so frequently does not mean we are good at it. Most of us will move in whatever way comes most easily and most naturally to us, which is not always the best for our bodies.

It is important to learn how to create rotation safely and effectively in life and in sports. If you are planning to hit the back nine and don’t know how to rotate, then adding rotation plus speed is just asking for a pissed off lower back.

I recently wrote an article talking about just those two things: training rotation and creating rotational power. If you use rotation in your life, which you do, and want to save your back, which you do, then clearly you want to read my article.
